Begin with place
We study daylight, weather, movement and the character of the existing landscape before drawing a plan.
Our story
Alder Stone began in 2012 above a print workshop in Ancoats. Our first commissions were homes and extensions, which taught us that good architecture starts with how people actually live.
Today, every project is led by senior designers from the first conversation through construction. We keep the studio intentionally close-knit so ideas remain clear and clients stay connected to the people doing the work.
How we work
We study daylight, weather, movement and the character of the existing landscape before drawing a plan.
Passive design, careful detailing and durable materials reduce energy, waste and long-term maintenance.
Clients, consultants and makers are part of one team, with clear decisions and honest communication throughout.
