320 m²

A low-slung family home of rammed earth and oak, oriented to catch the evening light.

Ridgeway House sits on a gentle slope on the edge of the city. Its long, low volumes follow the contours of the site, framing a sheltered courtyard and a view across the valley.

Thick rammed-earth walls store heat in winter and stay cool in summer, while deep oak-lined overhangs control solar gain. The result is a house that needs very little energy to run.
